At the end you will receive a confirmation of registration including your tenant number. |
Terms and conditions | It is not possible to get a room from the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart if you are older than 30.The rental agreement extends over a minimum period of 6 months and takes place until the end of the semester (end of February or end of August). The rent has to be paid in advance for the full calendar month and no refunds are given for late arrival or early departure. Rooms will be allocated by the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart according to availability and students are required to show tolerance towards members of our local and international student community. Our university can be easily reached by bus or subway (around 30 minutes travel time from most student dormitories). Students are entitled to obtain a subsidised public transport ticket. |
HFT Stuttgart Feedback Form MASTER | Additionally to the online registration master students fill in the HFT housing form which they received as a LINK during the application process. The tenant number from the Studierendenwerk must also be entered here. |

Room Guarantee | Accommodation cannot be guaranteed, especially if application takes place after the dates indicated above. The number of students requesting subsidised housing exceeds the number of available rooms. It is therefore your responsibility to make your online room reservation on time. |
Housing situation in Stuttgart | It is not easy to find a room in Stuttgart. Student accommodations are completely taken during the semester. The waiting list is very long! |
Room allocation with address | The Studierendenwerk is not able to give earlier information than: January for summer semester August for winter semester This is due to the cancellation period of 6 weeks for the previous tenants Once a room becomes available, you may receive a room allocation information and a payment request closer to the time of your arrival Upon receipt of this confirmation, you are obliged to pay the amount (refundable deposit + advance payment on rent) for the requested accommodation prior to your arrival. Please note that by reserving a room online you are entering a legally binding contract. Without advance payment within the deadline, your room registration will be cancelled and no further rooms can be made available. |
Room facilities | All student residences of the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart are furnished single rooms with shared kitchen and bath. There are no kitchen utensils. Students pay a one-time surcharge of approx. € 45.- for bedding. |
Prices | Prices for housing range from 300.- € to 400.- € per calendar month including internet access. TV and radio fees have to be paid extra by the students. |
Moving in | Accommodation is available from the first working day of the month (Monday to Friday) during the working hours of the janitor. |
Cancellation of a requested room | Should you change your mind after registering for housing - i.e. found accommodation on your own – please inform us (incoming@hft-stuttgart.de) and the Studierendenwerk immediately by e-mail. Late room cancellations result in a payment obligation of at least one monthly rent. |
