Visum

VISA (for non-EU citizens)

and

PROOF OF FINANCIAL MEANS

Please apply for the visa as soon as possible if necessary.

According to our experience, it

Obtaining a visa for Germany takes at least

many weeks until the visa is issued

6 weeks. We recommend applying for a visa 6-8 weeks before departure to avoid late arrival.

Due to the lack of staff at the Stuttgart visa office, we recommend

that

that ALL those who require a visa absolutely apply for it at home.

Non-EU students must submit proof of financial means when applying for a visa, at the latest when applying for a residence permit in Germany. The proof of financial means serves to demonstrate that every international student can cover their living costs.
Further information can be found on the official website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research: https://www.study-in-germany.de/en/plan-your-studies/requirements/proof-of-financing/
We recommend individual clarification with the respective German embassy in your home country.
